There are a few ways to know if you have a smart meter:
- Visit your meter box. If your meter has a dial or spinning wheel, it’s not a smart meter.
- Check your bill. Some retailers include a note indicating if you have a smart meter.
- Contact your retailer. Your energy retailer will be able to tell you if you have a smart meter.
- If a meter reader still comes to your house to take a reading, you don’t have a smart meter.
